Enforcers

Enforcers

Enforcers are figures of authority responsible for upholding order and ensuring compliance with the laws of the city. They serve as the arm of a centralized power, maintaining stability in a society pushed to the brink by extreme conditions. Often operating through surveillance, intimidation, or direct intervention, Enforcers are a symbol of control - used to suppress unrest and enforce the will of the Governor.

ACTIONS

Enforcer teams have only one action, Overrule:

An Enforcer team can select one team from any other faction and force them - using intimidation and violence - to perform an action of their choosing from that team’s board.

Special Rules

Often referred to as Marshalls, Sheriffs or Guards, Enforcers are one of only two factions in the city permitted to carry weapons. Armed with firearms, they hold a clear advantage in range and firepower over the Scouts, who wield equally deadly but limitingly close-range knives. Every Enforcer character begins the game equipped with a gun, reinforcing their dominant role in the city's balance of power.

Costuming Advice

With everyone marching to the beat of their leader’s drum, the City can truly progress. A well-oiled machine, everyone in their place, heads down, doing as their betters instruct. After all, a City in order is a City in control, and the Enforcers are more than comfortable taking control.

As an organised force responsible for keeping order in the city Enforcers should be instantly recognisable to the rest of the city, and not just because they’re brandishing guns. Consider liaising with other Enforcer characters to develop a unified costume design, or implement a shared accessory or two worn by all enforcers to immediately demarcate them from the rest of the riff raff.

Key features:

  • Tailored clothes, fitted to the figure. Enforcers are intimidating, authoritative and ruthless.

  • Dark clothes, low contrast. A heavy trench coat or duster coat, ideally in dark colours like black, charcoal and deep brown would be ideal. Outerwear with shoulder pads or epaulets would be excellent for characters that might have some official military background.

  • Accessories with obligatory faction pin on lapels, or military patches. Leather belts with pouches and holsters, possibly with shackles or manacles attached would make for an intimidating addition to the outfit. Face masks or scarves covering the lower face also provide a practical and intimidating element. Non-functional LARP-safe firearms will be provided.

  • Though Enforcers could conceivably be clean and composed, others might prefer a more weatherbeaten look with rugged facial hair. Scars or bruises would also be most appropriate for Enforcers.
